Fruity raisins meet fine dark chocolate. The combination of sweet dried fruit and slightly bitter coating creates a special taste experience. These chocolate coated raisins are a delicious sweet treat for between meals and perfect as a gift. You can make them with just three ingredients. You can find a detailed chocolate covered raisins recipe with the exact quantities and step-by-step instructions below.
Homemade chocolate covered raisins instead of store-bought
At home, you can create chocolate covered raisins to suit your taste, just like the lemonade. Use your favorite chocolate, for example.
If you make your own chocolate coated raisins, just like the syrki, you know what’s in them. You determine the quality of the ingredients.
It is also very easy to make chocolate covered raisins at home, just like the gozinaki. You only need three ingredients.
Choose the ingredients
The taste of your chocolate covered raisins depends on the ingredients used. To make them delicious, use the highest quality products possible.
Raisins
It is best to use organic raisins. They should only be dried and unsulphured, just like for the water kefir recipe.
Chocolate
I made the raisins with dark chocolate with 70 percent cocoa content, just like the fluffy chocolate pound cake. Alternatively, you can use dark chocolate with a lower cocoa content. You can also coat them with milk chocolate.
It is important that the chocolate tastes delicious and contains as few additives as possible. You can also use chocolate without granulated sugar, as you would for the sugar free chocolate candy bars.
Coconut oil
A small amount of coconut oil makes it easier to spread the chocolate over the raisins, similar to the cheesecake on a stick recipe. It also makes the surface of the coated raisins smoother and gives them a softer taste. Optionally, you can leave out the coconut oil.
Trick for a quicker version
I either used a fork to get the raisins out of the melted chocolate one by one onto the baking paper or separated several raisins from each other on the baking paper. This is a bit tedious and takes some time.
If you want to save yourself this effort, you can simply use a teaspoon to place small heaps of the chocolate-raisin mixture on the baking paper, just like in the chocolate peanut clusters recipe, and leave them to dry.
For snacking or as a gift
The homemade chocolate covered raisins are an ideal snack for between meals. You can take them with you on the go, just like the fruit bars or vegan gummy bears. They add a special flavor to your muesli.
In addition to the chocolate covered almonds and the Bird’s milk sweets, the chocolate coated raisins make a delicious gift from the kitchen for Easter, Christmas, Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day. Pack them in a pretty glass container, for example.
