Christmas Punch recipe

Aromatic fruity Christmas Punch

This Christmas Punch consists of a delicious combination of ingredients that makes it a real treat in the cold season. It’s the same with the glögg and the mulled wine.

Freshly squeezed juices provide a heavenly fruity taste that is perfectly complemented by the red wine. Freshly brewed black tea adds a special touch. Herbs and spices make the Christmas Punch incredibly aromatic. Brown rum rounds off the taste.

How to make fruity Christmas Punch

Modify the recipe

You can modify my Christmas Punch recipe to suit your taste, similar to the vegan egg liqueur recipe. Here are a few ideas for substituting ingredients.

Fruit juice

I used freshly squeezed orange juice, lime juice and cranberry juice, which I made from frozen fruit, for the Christmas Punch. They provide a fruity and tart note.

Alternatively, other fruit juices are also fine. Pomegranate juice and pineapple juice, for example, are great for this.

It is important that you use fruit juices that you have squeezed yourself or store-bought 100% direct juices.

Red wine

Use good quality red wine for the Christmas Punch, just as you would for the red wine cake, because its taste depends on it. For vegan version, you should also make sure that your red wine is vegan.

Black tea

Brew the black tea for the Punch fresh. Use high-quality organic tea, just like for the honey kovrizhka.

Rum

I have used brown rum in the recipe. You can also try it with white rum or vodka.

Spices

You can refine the Christmas Punch with any Christmas spices of your choice, similar to the eggnog. I have flavored it with orange and lime zest, fresh rosemary, ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, star anise and cloves.

Sugar

Honey or agave syrup can be used instead of sugar. You can adjust the amount to your taste, just as you would for the Golden Milk.

Christmas drink

Non-alcoholic Christmas Punch

If you want to make the Christmas Punch non-alcoholic, replace the red wine in the recipe with the same amount of fruit juice. This could be apple juice or grape juice, for example. For additional caffeine-free Christmas Punch, use fruit tea instead of black tea.

This winter drink is

  • incredibly fruity,
  • spicy,
  • sweet,
  • heavenly delicious,
  • aromatic,
  • with black tea,
  • warming,
  • vegan,
  • more delicious than from the Christmas market,
  • quick and easy to make at home,
  • ideal for the Christmas season.
