Ripe fruit for cornelian cherry liqueur recipe

Very ripe or overripe fruit that is already dark red in color is best for the cornelian cherry liqueur recipe, just like for the cornelian cherry jam recipe or the cornelian cherry cake recipe. They can easily be crushed before preparing.

In addition, ripe cornelian cherries taste sweet and no longer sour. This means you don’t need to add too much sugar to the liqueur.

Vodka, rum or grain brandy

I made the cornelian cherry liqueur with white rum, just like the vegan egg liqueur. Vodka and grain brandy are suitable alternatives, just like for my strawberry liqueur.

It is important that the high-proof alcohol you use is of a high quality. This is because the taste of the liqueur made from it depends on it.

Adjust sweetness to taste

My cornelian cherry liqueur tastes moderately sweet. If you like very sweet alcoholic drinks, you can increase the amount of sugar in the recipe.

In this case, adjust the amount of water as required. I used a 1:1 ratio of sugar and water.
