This hazelnut milk is creamy, nutty and so delicious. It is perfect for desserts, coffee, muesli, for drinking on its own or for baking. It can also be used to prepare a delicious chocolate milk that tastes like the popular nut nougat cream. You can make hazelnut milk from just two ingredients. You can find a detailed recipe with the exact quantities and step-by-step instructions below.
Homemade hazelnut milk instead of store-bought
If you make hazelnut milk at home, you know what ingredients are in it. This means you can avoid unhealthy additives and sweeteners. The same applies to the homemade fruit bars or the homemade lemonade, for example.
What’s more, this homemade nut milk contains a higher proportion of hazelnut kernels than the ones from the supermarket. This makes it taste much creamier. It is similar with the cashew milk, the rice milk or the lupin milk.
If you have a hazelnut tree growing near you, you can collect hazelnuts yourself during their season. This way you can get your nut milk quite cheaply. Incidentally, you can also use the elderflower season to make your own elderflower lemonade.
Enjoy nut milk
The homemade hazelnut milk is a real treat on its own, similar to the homemade pistachio milk. In addition to the almond milk and the soy milk, it also tastes delicious in coffee and muesli. You can also use it for milkshakes and baking recipes.
Make chocolate nut milk
You can quickly make a sweet chocolate milk from the hazelnut milk that tastes like Nutella. Simply mix the nut milk briefly with unsweetened cocoa powder and a sweetener of your choice. I sweetened my chocolate nut milk with agave syrup.
Using the pomace
You should not dispose of the pressing residue left over from the production of hazelnut milk. You can use it to refine smoothies and muesli.
Or spread the pomace on a baking tray and leave it to dry. You can then use the hazelnut flour for pastries. Use it to make the vegan nut cake or the German plum cake, for example.
