Sparkling, cool, fruity lemonade is a real treat on hot summer days. Made from natural ingredients, it tastes the best. Here I show you how to make lemonade with fresh lemons yourself. This is very easy and quick. A detailed lemonade recipe with exact quantities and step-by-step instructions can be found below.
Classic among soft drinks
Lemonade made from fresh lemons is probably one of the classics among all types of lemonade. It provides pure refreshment on hot summer days. In addition to the flavored water, lemon iced tea, kvass, the lemonade is a delicious treat par excellence.
Determine amount of sugar yourself
Depending on how sweet you like your lemonade with fresh lemons, you can adjust the amount of sugar in the recipe. You can also make a larger batch of sugar syrup and then add it to the lemon water to taste.
Refine lemonade with herbs
You can also refine your homemade lemonade with fresh herbs. Add mint, lemon balm or basil, for example. This is how you make the lemonade with fresh lemons even more aromatic.
Carbonated or non-carbonated water?
You can make your lemonade with either sparkling water or tap water. I prepare it with carbonated water that comes fresh straight from my sparkling water maker**. You should store homemade sparkling lemonade in sealable glass bottles.

Easy lemonade recipe
The lemonade recipe that you can find in the recipe box at the end of this post is very easy and quick. You only need three ingredients for this.
First you cook sugar syrup from some water, sugar and lemon zest and let it cool down.
Then you mix lemon juice with mineral water and the sugar syrup. Serve the freshly made lemonade with ice cubes.

Lemonade with fresh lemons
Ingredients
- 1 l sparkling water
- juice from 4 organic lemons freshly squeezed
- zest of 4 organic lemons
- 150 g sugar** or to taste
- 70 ml water
to serve
- organic lemon slices
- ice cubes
Instructions
- Combine sugar and lemon zest in a saucepan.
- Add water and bring to a boil, stirring, so the sugar dissolves before the syrup boils.
- Simmer the sugar syrup for 3 - 5 minutes, take it off the stove, pour it through a sieve and let it cool down.
- Pour lemon juice and the sugar syrup into a water carafe and stir.
- Top up with sparkling water and stir.
- Serve the lemonade with lemon slices and ice cubes.
