This mango basil soda tastes, smells and looks like summer. It is fruity, fresh and aromatic. You can make this exotic drink easily, quickly, with few ingredients and sugar free. A detailed mango lemonade recipe with the exact quantities and step-by-step instructions can be found below.
Which mangoes for the drink?
Use only very ripe mangoes to make your lemonade. It tastes sweet enough that you don’t need sugar or any other additional sweetener.
Have you tried my mint lemonade, raspberry lemonade and basil lemonade, which are also sugar free?
Thick consistency
Unlike classic lemonades like lemonade with fresh lemons, rhubarb lemonade or orange lemonade, this drink has a somewhat thick consistency. If you like it thinner, use more mineral water in the recipe.
Basil alternative
Basil adds a special flavor to the drink and makes it even more aromatic. Similarly, the cucumber lemonade with basil and mango sorbet with basil.
Alternatively, you can replace basil with other herbs in the recipe. For example, mint, which I used to make my lime lemonade and strawberry lemonade, combines tastefully with mango. The mango lemonade also tastes delicious with rosemary, as does the apricot lemonade.
Sweeten the mango lemonade
If the sweetness of the fruit in the lemonade is not enough for you, you can sweeten it additionally with agave syrup or maple syrup. Ordinary sugar or brown sugar, as in my watermelon lemonade, and classic sugar syrup are also suitable.
