Quick roasted potatoes recipe
The roasted potatoes recipe that you will find at the end of this post in the recipe box is pretty quick and easy. You only need a few ingredients, namely potatoes, spices and vegetable oil.
The roast potatoes are prepared without pre-cooking. This makes them ideal for lunch or dinner when you don’t have much time to cook but still want to serve something tasty and healthy to your loved ones.
By the way, try my potatoes au gratin recipe and rosemary roasted potatoes recipe too. They are also delicious, lightning fast and don’t need to be pre-cooked.
What type of potatoes do I use?
Waxy potatoes are best for the oven roasted potatoes. They have a lower starch content than floury potatoes. This means they keep their shape when cooked and don’t fall apart so quickly. You also need waxy potatoes for my fries recipe.
Season roast potatoes
I only seasoned my roasted potatoes with paprika powder, black pepper and salt. This is enough for a delicious combination of flavors.
Of course, you can also use other spices and herbs of your choice for the roast potatoes recipe, similar to the vegetable fried rice recipe, the oven baked buckwheat with vegetables recipe or the creamy vegan tomato soup recipe. For example, dried marjoram, thyme and sage go very well with it. For a spicy taste, you can add a little cayenne pepper.
Serve delicious
The roasted potatoes are filling and perfect as a main meal for lunch or dinner. An ordinary vegetable salad is the ideal accompaniment. You can also serve the Russian carrot salad, the coleslaw with sour cream or the Russian beet salad with them.
The oven roasted potatoes work just as well as a side dish. You can serve them with the vegan fish cakes, the red lentil patties, the oatmeal patties, the buckwheat patties or the falafel, for example.
With a dip, the roast potatoes are delicious as a snack between meals. The cucumber yoghurt dip that I served with my zucchini fritters is ideal for this. Homemade mayonnaise also tastes delicious with the roast potatoes.
