This exotic fruit salad is incredibly fruity, juicy, refreshing, aromatic and versatile in taste. It will give you that tropical vacation feeling right at home. You can find a detailed tropical fruit salad recipe with the exact quantities and step-by-step instructions below.
Tropical fruit salad with which fruits?
Various tropical fruit varieties are suitable for this fruit salad. I used mango, pineapple, kiwi, physalis and passion fruit. My exotic fruit salad was refined with lime, similar to the honeydew iced tea, and coconut chips.
Star fruit, dragon fruit and maracuja also go very well with it. You can also use fresh coconut, coarsely grate the flesh and mix it into the fruit salad.
Use ripe fruits for the tropical fruit salad. This will make it taste sweet and you won’t need any additional sweetener. However, the fruits must not be overripe, as is the case for the mango coconut dessert cups with banana and lime. Otherwise the fruit salad could turn out soggy.
Sweeten to taste
If you want to sweeten the fruit salad further, you can use agave syrup, maple syrup or honey, just like for the winter fruit salad. Mix the sweetener with the lime juice first. Note that your tropical fruit salad is not vegan if you use honey.
Serve fresh
The tropical fruit salad tastes best immediately after preparation. Then it is really fresh and juicy. It is similar with the raspberry lemonade, the cherry vareniki or the mini Pavlovas.
You can serve the exotic fruit salad for breakfast alongside the jam oatmeal bars, the tvorog or the ryazhenka. It is also perfect for dessert after a meal, just like the mango sorbet with basil. You can also enjoy it in between meals alongside the fruit bars, the apple chips or the vegetable chips to satisfy small appetites.
