Mountain lentil fritters vegan

The delicious mountain lentil fritters taste juicy on the inside and have a crispy top layer. They are vegan, healthy and filling. Plus, with this recipe, you can easily make them yourself with few ingredients and serve them in a versatile way.

Ingredients

  • 200 g mountain lentils (soaked overnight in plenty of cold water)
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp paprika powder**
  • 1 pinch of cayenne pepper**
  • salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

  • Thoroughly drain the mountain lentils soaked overnight in water.
  • Cut carrot into pieces. Peel onion and garlic. Cut the onion into pieces.
  • Put the mountain lentils in a blender, add the carrot, onion pieces as well as the garlic and puree everything.
  • Season the lentil mixture with paprika powder, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper (do not taste the lentil mixture!).
  • Form flattened fritters from the lentil mixture. (The mixture is very soft, but shapes well).
  • Put some vegetable oil in a frying pan and heat it.
  • Fry the mountain lentil fritters in the pan over low to medium heat slowly, so that they are cooked from the inside, until golden brown on both sides.

Notes

  • You can season the lentil mixture with various spices and herbs.
  • You can adjust the amount of garlic to taste.
