How to make cucumber lemonade

Cucumber lemonade with basil

Sparkling, cool, refreshing – the cucumber lemonade is a different treat for hot summer days. You can make it yourself easily and quickly from natural ingredients with this recipe and enjoy it immediately.

Ingredients

  • 1 l sparkling water
  • 1 cucumber big
  • 15 basil leaves
  • juice of 1 lime freshly squeezed
  • 70 g sugar**
  • 30 ml water

to serve

  • ice cubes
  • lime slices
  • cucumber slices

Instructions

  • Place sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a bubbling boil, stirring so that the sugar dissolves before the syrup boils.
  • Take the sugar syrup off the heat and let it cool.
  • Cut cucumber into cubes and place in a blender.
  • Add basil leaves to the cucumber in the blender and puree everything.
  • Put the cucumber puree in a strainer and catch the juice.
  • Add the cucumber juice, lime juice, and the sugar syrup to a water carafe and stir.
  • Pour it with sparkling water and stir again.
  • Serve the cucumber lemonade with slices of cucumber, lime and ice cubes.

Notes

  • Instead of making the syrup yourself, you can use ready-made sugar syrup** from the supermarket.
  • The amount of sugar syrup can be adjusted to taste, depending on how sweet you like the drink.
  • You can make the cucumber lemonade sugar free. Then you either add no sweetener at all or add some agave syrup, for example. Read my notes on this above.
  • I make the cucumber lemonade with sparkling water, which comes fresh straight from my sparkling water maker**. But you can also make it with non-carbonated mineral water or tap water.
