Mint lemonade / Limonana

In a limonana, mint meets lemon. Hardly anyone can resist the combination. No drink probably contains more freshness than this lemon mint lemonade. What's more, it's conjured up in no time at all. With this recipe you make the mint lemonade at home.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 30 peppermint leaves fresh
  • juice of 2 lemons freshly squeezed
  • juice of 1 lime freshly squeezed
  • 4 tbsp agave syrup** or to taste
  • 20 small ice cubes
  • 500 ml sparkling water

to serve

  • peppermint leaves
  • organic lemon slices

Instructions

  • Put freshly squeezed lemon juice, lime juice and mint leaves in a blender and puree it finely.
  • Add agave syrup and ice cubes and blend until ice cubes are crushed.
  • Pour the mint lemon mix into a water carafe.
  • Pour it with sparkling water and stir.
  • Serve the limonana with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices.

Notes

  • Instead of peppermint, you can use another kind of mint.
  • Agave syrup can be replaced with maple syrup or sugar.
  • Use a powerful blender suitable for crushing ice cubes.
  • You can also make the lemon mint lemonade with non-carbonated mineral water. I use sparkling water that comes out of my sparkling water maker** for this.
