Sweeten lime lemonade to taste

You can sweeten the lime lemonade to your taste. Simply adjust the amount of sugar in the recipe below.

Instead of the brown sugar you can take a normal sugar. The classic sugar syrup is also suitable for this.

My lime lemonade uses very little sugar. If you find it too sour, just add more sugar.

If you want to make the lime soda sugar free, sweeten it with agave syrup or maple syrup. You can omit a sweetener completely if you want to make a totally healthy drink.

More mint

As for the peppermint, you can also adjust its amount as you like. It depends on how pronounced you want the mint flavor to be in your lime lemonade.

I added about five peppermint leaves to the drink. This gives it just a slight hint of mint. Of course, you can use more mint in the recipe.

Summer drink

Dilute as desired

Depending on how intense you want the lime flavor to be, you can choose the amount of water to dilute the lime syrup. If you only like a light lime flavor, mix a small amount of lime syrup with plenty of sparkling water. For more lime flavor, use less water in the recipe.

In addition, you can decide for yourself whether you want to make the lemonade carbonated or not. Not only mineral water works for this, but classic tap water just as well.

I like my lime soda carbonated. That’s why I make it with sparkling water that comes out of my sparkling water maker**.

For party or picnic

Homemade lime lemonade isn’t just perfect to enjoy during the week. You can also serve it at a summer party. Plus, just like strawberry lemonade, watermelon lemonade or classic lemonade, it’s perfect for a picnic.
