Refreshment and holiday in glass

The homemade lavender lemonade brings cool refreshment on hot summer days. In addition, it provides a real holiday feeling directly in your home. Because with its scent it reminds you of holiday time in the south, where you can admire whole lavender fields in summer.

By the way, my rose lemonade, elderflower lemonade, basil lemonade and cucumber lemonade are no less aromatic and fancy.

Dried instead of fresh lavender blossoms

Instead of fresh, you can also use dried lavender blossoms for the lemonade. For the recipe below, you will need about 3 tablespoons of them, just like fresh ones.

In summer, when the plant is in bloom, fresh lavender blossoms are perfect for making lemonade. With the dried blossoms you can make the drink all year round.

On hot summer days, raspberry lemonade, watermelon lemonade and apricot rosemary lemonade also provide great cooling.

How to make lavender soda

Use only true lavender

It is important that you use only the true lavender with edible flowers for the recipe. The best plant for this purpose is the one from your own garden, balcony or neighbor’s garden.

You can buy dried lavender blossoms in some supermarkets or online. Again, make sure they are edible.

The lavender lemonade recipe you’ll find in the recipe box here at the end of the post is very simple. The syrup just needs some time to steep.

So, first, you briefly boil a regular sugar syrup made of water and sugar. Let the lavender blossoms steep in it until the syrup cools down.

Then pour the lavender syrup through a sieve into a water carafe and add lemon juice and mineral water. The fragrant lavender soda is ready!
