Fancy soda

While lemonade or orange lemonade are classics, rose lemonade, like cucumber lemonade or basil lemonade, is something more unusual.

Just like elderflower lemonade, it is heavenly fragrant and has a subtle floral taste. Served with rose petals, it’s also a visual hit.

Unlike rhubarb lemonade, which can only be prepared over a small period of time, you can enjoy rose soda over a longer period of time. That’s because roses bloom throughout the summer and into the fall.

Use only untreated flowers

Use only untreated roses for the rose lemonade recipe. They must not be sprayed or freshly fertilized. Roses from your garden are best for this. Do not use ordinary flowers from a supermarket or flower store for the lemonade.

Also, you should process the rose petals as soon as possible after you have picked the roses. Fresh flowers make the rose soda especially fresh and aromatic.

How to make rose lemonade

Rose soda with or without rose water

Rose water adds even more flavor and aroma to the drink. Use food grade rose water for the recipe. You can buy it in some supermarkets or online**.

But you can also make a delicious and fragrant lemonade without rose water. In this case, take a little more rose petals and let them steep sufficiently in the sugar syrup.

As refreshment, for wedding, as a gift

Homemade rose lemonade is a great refreshment on hot summer days, enchanting you with its aroma. Enjoy it on the terrace, balcony or in the garden. By the way, the homemade lime lemonade, lemon iced tea or Russian fresh kompot is perfect as a change.

You can also serve the rose soda at a summer party, for example at a summer wedding, together with the watermelon lemonade and strawberry lemonade, among others. Guests are guaranteed to be delighted by such an eye-catcher, not only in terms of taste, but also visually.

In addition, the rose lemonade is a nice souvenir. Pour it together with the rose petals into a pretty glass bottle**. Just note that the lemonade should be consumed as quickly as possible, unlike homemade strawberry syrup or orange syrup, which have a long shelf life.

Simple rose lemonade recipe

The rose lemonade recipe you can find here at the end of the post in the recipe box is pretty simple. The sugar syrup with rose petals just needs to steep for a while so that the flowers give it their flavor and aroma.

First of all, make a syrup from water and sugar. Dip rose petals into it and let it steep for at least three hours.

Then pour the rose petal syrup through a sieve into a water carafe, dilute it with water and flavor the lemonade with lemon juice and rose water.
